Plants and flowers, whether carefully cultivated in gardens or growing wild in meadows and woodlands, make for an endlessly enjoyable subject in my photography because they offer a perfect blend of beauty, diversity, and accessibility. Their vibrant colors, intricate patterns and detail, and delicate textures create natural compositions that are both visually striking and engaging, turning even a simple snapshot into something serene and artistic. Unlike moving subjects, plants and flowers are cooperative, allowing a photographer of my quite basic skill level to experiment with different angles, lighting conditions and creative techniques like close-ups that reveal hidden details such as dew drops on petals or pollinators and other insects.  I present in the following gallery some of my images in this fascinating genre.
